Alison Miller – Plumstead

Alison Miller – Plumstead

I have been a Plumstead resident for over twenty five years and in that time my neighbours have become friends. I love living in Plumstead. But what has been a continued source of concern is the neglect of the area, where Plumstead seems to have been the poor relation and overlooked by Greenwich Council.

We have had to fight for the simplest of services like steam cleaning of Plumstead High Street. More recently closure of Plumstead Leisure Centre and the plans to spend millions for a replacement that will provide shockingly reduced facilities – without decent consultation – has not made any sense to me at all.

I am standing for council on 3rd May because I want to fight for the voices of Plumstead residents to be heard when money and services are being determined.

I have years of community involvement in Plumstead including Art Plumstead, Honorary Treasurer for both Friends of Rockcliffe Gardens and Friends of Plumstead Common voluntary groups, a member of Plumstead Players amateur drama group and I was honoured to be crowned ‘Queen of Plumstead Make Merry’ by the Mayor of Greenwich two years ago.
